FIG + YARROW - small-batch, handcrafted organic health+vanity products

'FIG+YARROW is an artisan line of small-batch, handcrafted organic health+vanity products born of my love affair with botanicals and various earth elements. Their whisperings have guided many unique formulations designed for sensual enjoyment, physical radiance and overall vitality. All the materials I use - from the lovely and vibrant roots, leaves, flowers, minerals and oils to the glass containers the products live in - are selected for beauty, health and purity as they are designed to evoke these qualities for the user.' - Brandy Monique, Apothecary Artisan, Proprietress of FIG+YARROW. Binchotan charcoal products by Rikumo - made in Japan

Binchotan charcoal brings along a variety of benefits. It is known for its best quality for purifying water, enhancing blood circulation, capturing moisture and odors from the air and for stimulating healthy soil in the garden. Thus the products of Rikumo have some great beneficial characteristics. For instance the binchotan charcoal is blended into the bristle of the toothbrush, which helps giving off negative ions, deodorizing and removing plaque thus preventing bad breath and harmful bacteria growth. We like the great idea of using charcoal for healthy beneficial reasons, which is rather an unusual ingredient for these type of products. Pictures by Simon Freund.

ESPLAR - the all white Sneaker by VEJA

The Esplar Low Top is an all white sneaker from the French brand VEJA. The shoe features a chrome-free tanned leather and a sole made out of Amazonian rubber. All in all, the shoe is produced in Brazil. We like the simplicity of the sneaker and VEJA's strategy of being fair trade and ecological. You can buy the shoe at Centre Commercial.

The Pressery - super natural goodness

Based in East London, The Pressery was born four month ago after Chi-San Wan and Natali Stajcic started to make their own natural almond milk. They started making it for themselves because cafes didn't offer it, and the shop-bought pasteurised almond milk, with it's added sugar, just didn't compare. Since friends and family loved the product they started producing larger amounts of almond milk using raw, organic Spanish almonds. The milk is highly nutritious and alkalising. Rich in protein, fibre and calcium, plus many more vitamins and minerals. It also includes powerful antioxidants that help inhibit free radicals and support a strong immune system. Besides the beautiful minimal packaging, we like their idea of just making a better product themselves rather than complaining about what´s available on the market. Pictures by Simon Freund.
