SIMON FREUND - Shopping Bag Installation

Alex Rückheim

Known for his work in the field of consumable goods, the latest work of the conceptual German artist Simon Freund features a series of ‘Shopping Bag’ chairs. Utilising the basic black frame structure of ‘The Metal Chair’ – item 018 launched as part of his ongoing series of objects – Simon drapes various shopping bags over the seat and backrest, from names including the likes of Primark, Acne Studios, COS and Supreme. On describing his latest work, Simon states that his vision stems from the desire to showcase his understanding of contemporary consumerism in a way that is accessible to the masses.

'Each object is a reflection of Simon Freund’s personal understanding of the relationship between design and functionality, the concept of value and contemporary consumerism.'

TANGENT GC – Honest Garment Care

Alex Rückheim

With the celebration of high quality craftsmanship and a passion for fabrics and pattern-making, one could presume a meticulous and honest interest for proper care. According to Tangent GC co-founder, David Samuelsson, we stopped caring somewhere along the way when mass produced, cheap, and oftentimes deficient clothing was introduced. For this reason, Tangent GC set out with the aim to provide a range of superior clothing and shoe care products – not emanating from the chemical industry or flung off conveyor belts – but non-mass-produced, chemical-free products that naturally and effectively give your garments a long life.

FEIT DIRECT - Hand-Stitched Sneakers

Guest User

Feit Direct Shoes

These super minimal sneakers are hand-stitched from the finest Semi Cordovan leather and built using the highest quality natural materials. They are perfect to be worn barefoot all summer long. Historically, cordovan has been used only for luxury dress shoes. The leather is tanned using an extensive process. The hides are tanned slowly, nourished with natural oils and shaved. A century ago, when horses were still a driving force of transportation, hides were plentiful. Now they are extremely scarce and difficult to come by.

Your feet will breathe and stay cool, and the shoes will mold perfectly to your feet without retaining sweat or odor. Get a pair of these limited edition sneakers, available for men and women, online or in their NY Flagship Store.

Available in a limited edition of 60 pairs for Spring 2015 at www.feitdirect.com as well as the FEIT for New York flagship.

Spitsberg is a product design studio based in Amsterdam, founded by Jeroen van Leur and Thijmen van der Steen. They aim to discover how to make our surroundings lighter, in all senses of the word.

'We venture to discover how to make our surroundings lighter, in all senses of the word. To build a place that is not about abundance, but about clarity and simplicity, a luxury we embrace.'

These delicate lights create an intimate atmosphere and can be used in dining- and bedroom alike. The misty screen of thin fabric stretched around a ash wooden ring captures the light and spreads it out in a soft tone. The light is designed and made by hand with great care, and affection for refined details.
