THE KNOTS

Guest User

I just moved into my own apartment and have been struggling to find the perfect carpet for my living room. It took me weeks to decide but now I know what I want: THE KNOTS. I have created a post about this Berlin based brand a few months ago and can't decide on which one I would chose because they are all different and unique. To me, it's the perfect eyecatcher for a minimalistic home. Their vintage rugs were made about 80 years ago and are picked by Katrin, founder of the brand, with love and care. They are composed of organic materials and handcrafted applying traditional techniques. After going through a process of sun bleaching, restoring and washing THE KNOTS rugs are reborn into contemporary design with outstanding colors. Their authenticity has been accessed by a federally acknowledged expert for oriental rugs. Find out more about these outstanding rugs and visit their Showroom in Berlin for more information.

ABLETON PUSH - Mad Zach Performance

Guest User

It looks complicated but it is actually quite simple: Ableton Push is an instrument that enables anyone to create songs from scratch. With Push, one can control pretty much anything without even looking at the computer once. It is one of the most popular hardware for music producers and DJ's alike. To give you a bit more insight, make sure to check out this amazing video by Berlin-based producer Mad Zach, who is working this instrument like he's never done anything else in his life. It's truly amazing to see that Push puts the fundamental elements of music making at your fingertips.

ASKET - Re-thinking T-shirt Sizing

Guest User

A while ago my partner Alex has written a post about ASKET, a Swedish brand which has managed to create the perfect T-shirt. What makes ASKET different from other brands is that they have expanded on the traditional sizing system to offer a product that fits all men at a fair price. All T-Shirts are made in a small, family-owned factory in Portugal, enabling the founders Jakob Dworsky and August Bringeus to have full insight into the factory's labor conditions. Another upside of their European production facility is the outstanding quality of their T-Shirts. Besides offering the usual S, M, L, XL sizes, they give customers the option to chose a suitable length also. I can only recommend purchasing your next basic on their website. The future is all about transparency and brands that make sure the people who are involved in producing the final product are looked after and work under fair labor conditions. You won't regret it.

MIDORI – Brass Stationery Made in Japan

Alex Rückheim

Established in 1950, Japanese brand MIDORI creates sophisticated and creative stationery, combining design aesthetics and functionality. The brand designed a range of brass stationery products including this beautifully sleek ballpoint pen, pencil and ruler. The beauty of brass lies in its somewhat nostalgic feeling as its texture uniquely ages over time depending on how and in what environment you use it. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, has its own gloss, and has been used in architecture, furniture and hardware, art and craftworks, etc., since antiquity. Over the years, its surface oxidizes to become a deep, tender colour hue worthy of long appreciation. Both the solid brass ballpoint pen and pencil are designed in a compact, two-part (open and closed) bullet-like shape.

005 - The Leather Bag by Simon Freund

Alex Rückheim

Simon Freund - the brand which, until now, was commonly known as SIMON&ME, and which you might have come across within several features on GOODS WE LIKE, has undergone a fascinating transformation. Celebrating its global launch during CIFF RAVEN in Copenhagen on August 5th, the forward-thinking brand will from now on carry the name of its visionary, founder and designer: Simon Freund. Apart from re-working all existing products with meticulous attention to detail, quality, and manufacturing, the brand will launch a collection of 20 products, which is grounded in permanent objects that are further added to in irregular regularity.
With a profound understanding for design and the use of materials, 005 – The Leather Backpack is an ideal reflection of Simon Freund’s very personal understanding of design, aesthetic, and functionality. This Made in Germany backpack is made from coated, water repellent and sturdy core leather. The bag features three partitions, and comes with adjustable and felt-padded shoulder straps. Measurements: 30 x 15 x 43cm.
